Bratislava peaceable place : Jama leisure space - Laurent
This is Jama leisure space, a little paradise in Bratislava. Despite of being surrounded by buildings, car's noises and larges artificial roads ; I guess people find calm there thanks to its impressive conception.
Indeed, there is a 350-400m track which is part of this area below the track. By the way, these pictures were taken from it. Just below, you can find trees, grass, water point, pathways and also some structures as benches, fitness equipment, Parkour sets, ping-pong tables, slacklines fixed on trees, and more. This is where children usually play, so their parents can have a look on them from above or accompany them. Moreover, just behind the track, you'll find tennis fields and a restaurant with a terrace. So, you can enjoy a drink or make some sports and survey children (if you have ones) while they play in the park. Finally, I want to highlight that this place has a disabled access. This is interesting because this is not a usual thing to see in Europe. As you can suppose, everything is condensed, make sure you're at ease with it before to go 😉
The first time I went there was the 16th of February, during a marathon training session. I stayed there for 1 hour and 7 minutes, running on the track. In fact, everyone can find his/her place in Jama leisure place. For example, I saw a young boy playing tennis alone, hitting the tennis ball against a wall especially designed for this; parents teaching their child how to walk ; other parents playing frisbee with their sons ; some adults training on the street workout or running around the track, just like I did ; older people walking below it. And I understand why I saw all these people passing by this little park.
I guess this little place is quite similar to the New York City Central Park. The only but major difference I see, is the size of these two parks. Jama leisure space is much smaller, and that's why I think it is safer.
In other words, Jama leisure space is full of life, and that's why I am already mad of it. Can't wait to have another run there.
PS : Just in case you're convinced to have your next run there, please notice that this space is open from 6AM to 10PM. It may avoid you an unnecessary round trip 😉
